Why do we clink our glasses together before drinking?
Well legend has it that in the days of pirates, after they scored a nice bounty, they would all come back to celebrate. Before they divided up the loot, one of the pirates would put poison in some of the glasses so that there were less people to share the wealth. As a result the pirates started clinking glasses, which were made of wood, hard so that the liquid would spill into the other glasses. This way they would all be poisoned and no one would be able to tell if any were not poisoned.
Hey pirates, maybe you should all be a little less greedy! LOL.
