Today’s Good News: Group Helps Seniors Adopt Pets

The group Pets for the Elderly covers adoption fees for seniors.  And they’re expanding because of the pandemic.  Since 1992, they’ve helped adopt almost 100,000 pets in 34 states.  And now they’re aiming to be in all 50 states by the end of the year.

A group called the Fixit Clinic helps people repair their old appliances and electronics instead of throwing them out.  And they had to stop holding events when the pandemic hit.  So they decided to roll with it . . . started doing classes on Zoom instead . . . and they’re a huge hit.  So now they’re reaching even more people.

An anonymous donor just gave $750,000 to a charity that’s helping migrant farmworkers and meatpackers pay their rent.
