Today’s Good News: High School Students Make Care Packages For Isolated Seniors


A high school student and her younger brother are making care packages for isolated seniors. Hita Gupta, 16, and 10-year-old Divit have sent out nearly 100-thousand handwritten cards and packages to nursing homes. She was inspired to do it after not being able to volunteer at a nursing home anymore after COVID hit and knowing the loneliness the elderly were facing. Source: CNN


Mikayla Gounard, a 12-year-old who donated all her birthday money to help a homeless man who found and returned her grandma’s wallet is helping him get off the streets. Her family started a GoFundMe campaign to help Sean Curry. So far, it’s raised more than $45-thousand for him. Source: Upworthy



A nonprofit that supports foster children and their families in Washington state is making sure none of the kiddos miss out on a birthday cake. Mo’s Place has teamed up with TSP Bakeshop in West Richland to get kids in foster care a cake to celebrate with.
