Today’s Good News: Teammates Help Runner With Cancer Cross Finish Line


A high school senior who is battling cancer returned to run with her cross country team and they helped her cross the finish line. Yeva Klingbeil’s teammates at Shenendehowa High School linked arms with her and walked with her at a meet this week. After they finished the race, the rest of the team and runners from other schools rushed to congratulate her and chanted her name. Source: People

The class of 2021 at Contra Costa College got a huge graduation gift from the school. All of their remaining student debt was forgiven for the May 2021 grads. A woman who was adopted as a newborn has finally been reunited with her biological mom after 56 years. Diana Brown was able to track down her birth mother, Marlys Hand, thanks to Ancestry.com. The women were reconnected in March and just met face-to-face in an emotional reunion. Source: KELOLand

A missing 69-year-old fisherman has been located after surviving 17 nights in the Oregon wilderness. Search and rescue crews were looking for Harry Burleigh after his wife reported that he hadn’t returned from a fishing trip on May 7th. They found several makeshift shelters he’d made before finally finding him in stable condition. Source: CNN
