George Michael At #1

Today in 1988, George Michael scored his sixth No.1 US single with ‘Father Figure’. Michael directed the music video with Andy Morahan, who also worked on other videos for George. The pair won the award for Best Direction in a Video for “Father Figure” at the 1988 MTV Video Music Awards.
